I am originally from Minnesota and moved out to the east coast for school and have been in Boston ever since. I currently live in Boston with my dog Remy. I enjoy working out and doing crossfit as well as running and playing volleyball. I have run 1 marathon and a handful of half marathons including the Disney half challenge and most recently the Ragnar Reach the Beach. My next race I am looking forward to is the Jack and Jill Marathon In Washington and my dream is to run in the Boston Marathon one day (Preferable on my birthday 4/18).
Sports and fitness have always been a part of my life and still remains a very important thing to me. I did track and field in high school and played volleyball in College. I took up crossfit and running after college and continue to play recreational volleyball. Since I got my dog Remy he has also encouraged me to be more active and we enjoy going on long hikes, swimming or kayaking.
In College I was studying exercise science and wanted to be a strength and conditioning coach and then I took a sports management class and decided to switch gears and went to grad school to get my masters in Sports Management. I did a bunch of amazing internships in sports and thought I was going to work in college athletics. While I was coaching, I temped for an health insurance company and then changed my path again to healthcare management. I then got to work for a bunch of great medical clinics and realized the hole in the health and wellness industry and decided I wanted to create an all encompassing wellness center that hit all three aspects of the meaning of wellness. That is when my lifelong dream of being a business owner kicked in and I created Performance and Recovery.
